What is AccuKare?
 
AccuKare, Inc. is a personal care provider organization (PCPO) that was founded in 2002 by Karla Adams (current CEO) under the urging of many individuals involved with home care. AccuKare, Inc. came into existence with much thought and desire to be an alternative to the traditional �way of doing things.� Karla has a devised processes and procedures that intend to provide empowerment and respect to the clients, client families, staff, and state and local workers in order that the client receives the maximum care that they need in order to achieve highest potential.
 
What services do you provide?
 
We provide Personal Care Assistant (PCA) services and homemaking services supervised by a registered nurse (RN) in the clients' homes.
 
How can I get your services?
 
Contact your county of residence to determine medical assistance eligibility.
 
How long does it take to get services from your company?
 
30-60 days depending upon how quickly each phase of the application process is completed.
 
Do I have to have medical insurance to get services?
 
No, most medical insurance does not cover our services.
 
Do your employees have experience in working with children with autism?
 
Yes, we currently have many PCAs (Personal Care Attendants) that have experience specifically with autism, and we have a number of clients with that disability.
 
In what geographic area do you provide services?
 
We currently provide services in Anoka, Hennepin, Isanti, and Ramsey and are willing to expand to surrounding areas.
 
Who can be a PCA?
 
Anyone over the age of 18, including parents and family members as long as they are not the responsible party for the client.
 
Can a parent become a PCA for their child?
 
Yes, as long as they are not listed as the responsible party for the client.
 
How are each client's daily PCA needs determined?
 
An assessment made by the state will determine the number of hours a PCA can work with each client per day.
 
What are homemaking services?
 
Having someone come into the home to help with light housekeeping and duties around the house to allow the family more time with the client.
